Description

Du 30 octobre au 2 janvier 2002, le Centre Pompidou présente « Instant Snow », hommage à l'oeuvre de Michael Snow . Cet hommage se présente sous la forme d'une coupe opérée dans une oeuvre foisonnante, pluridisciplinaire et en perpétuel devenir.[...]

Né en 1929 à Toronto, Canada, Michael Snow se fit connaître par le cinéma . Son film « Wavelength », qui gagna en 1967 le grand prix du prestigieux Festival du Film Expérimental de Knokke-le-Zoute, fit l'effet d'une bombe, et annonça un nouveau seuil dans l'évolution de l'art cinématographique ; il assit sa réputation d'artiste inscrit dans une lignée duchampienne.
